Ecommerce News Roundup | 22 August 2022

Welcome to this week’s ecommerce & digital news.

Almost the start of the new term and it feels as though we are through the delusions of the H1 where so many businesses thought the unusual high growth of ecommerce caused by Covid was a permanent feature.

At the same time the doomsayers have also been proved wrong, and on-line growth is still a defining feature of the whole economy.

One thing that Covid has changed is the whole debate about WFH.  I would have expected job security to be top of the agenda – and maybe it is – but a very significant percentage of candidates will be asking about this feature of their employment before they will listen to anything else.

Employers are reacting by setting Monday and Friday as fixed days to be in the office.  But as we see at Apple, employees feel that they are grown up enough to decide on their own and in a time of near full employment they are not shy of showing their power.

Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.
