The Ecommerce News Roundup – 16 May 2022

With a recession clearly on the cards it seems that maybe the right question is not ‘when?’ but ‘how deep?’.

There have been some fun memes such as the Macdonald’s advert offering jobs serving Big Macs for the crypto-bros. There is another theme in my Twitter about how it is going to get tough for those hubristic VCs.

It is definitely the time in the cycle when I like to dust off my copy of JK Galbraith’s The Great Crash 1929. Scary, funny and helpful to put things into perspective…

But on the upside, things in ecommerce are still looking pretty great. Here’s the latest news to enjoy.

``The idea that the future is unpredictable is undermined every day by the ease with which the past is explained.``
