The Ecommerce News Roundup – 23 May 2022

There’s lots of interesting ecommerce news out there at the moment and it is difficult to work out whether to be a pessimist or an optimist.

Klarna is laying off 10% of its workforce following some rather straight-line thinking and mistakenly viewing its Covid growth as the new normal, whilst Kingfisher has seen a decline in sales of 5.4%, yet they are still 16% above 2019 levels.

And although macro-economic factors aren’t looking very pretty it is worth noting that last quarter’s dividend growth within the top 1200 global companies rose by nearly 11%!

Closer to home, 20% of workers are apparently looking to switch job this year with the overwhelming motivation being a pay increase.

… and those most likely to ask for a pay rise?

… those in the ‘tech sector’.

Food for thought!

Do not be embarrassed by your failures, learn from them and start again.
